Happy new year everybody!
Seems like folks are still slowly getting back into the routine after the holidays… there are a few cool events going on, and if volunteerism is on you list of New Year’s resolutions, we’ll have a round up of Montavilla-area opportunities to get involved next week.

The conflict over homelesness in the neighborhood has been spotlighted in the Los Angeles Times.
Written by a Portland-based reporter, claims made in the story have been denied by the Montavilla Initiative members featured in the story (KPTV story), and comments from homeless advocate Ibrahim Mubarak have been updated.
