It was an awful heat wave, and the tally of deaths in Portland and the region is still growing.
Just today, local media is reporting 59 deaths in Multnomah County and 79 statewide so far.
Many community members turned out to help those in need, and Melissa “Claudio” Lewis wrote about the mutual aid work of Portland anarchist and lefts during this crisis and others.

New food cart pod
There’s a new food cart pod opening in Montavilla!
It’s located at 8220 NE Davis Street, the former location of Bai Yok Thai Food, a beloved Thai restaurant that was lost in a fire in 2016.
All but three of the 16 slots are rented already— including the return of Bai Yok Thai Food!

Farmers markets
“Lents International Farmers Market (LIFM) is the only one in Portland with an intentional international focus. LIFM provides fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate produce to the diverse community of Lents neighbors.
