Hayride in pumpkin patch
Bushue’s Family Farm hay ride.

Haven’t gotten your fall fun fix yet but don’t want to fight the crowds on Sauvie Island? East Portland / East County has got you covered. Take a look at a few of the options below… fall attractions include corn mazes, hay rides, pumpkin patches, and even a pumpkin sling.

If you can guess what decade they’re websites were built in, you get a free mini pumpkin (just kidding).

FRIDAY

Live music at The O’Neill Pub:

“The Smut City Jellyroll Society (video) is a wild and crazy bunch of fun loving musicians playing blues and early jazz from the 1920s and 1930s. With a unique sound somewhere between ragtime blues, early jazz and jugband music, the Jellyroll Society keeps it loose and lively with a driving syncopated swing that gets the dancers out on the floor”

Live music with Thin Rail from noon – 2 pm:

“A unique blend of the music that makes music truly American: the literate folk of Mitchell, the haunting blues of Hopkins, the country howl of Prine, the rock snarl of the Truckers, and the soulful moan of Pickett. It all adds up to a little bit of self-reflection peppered with the spice of a rollicking good time.”

Montavilla Neighborhood Association is having a special meeting Sunday (agenda) to assign roles to newly-elected board members; discuss filling the board’s three remaining seats; discuss communications; and other business.

If you missed the KBOO profile on the new board, it’s here.

My last word on the election: there were some questions going around about the possibility that ballots were thrown out / spoiled because diligent voters took notes on them. I reached out to a Southeast Uplift official who said they they all were counted. Small detail, but I though it was worth passing along.
