There was a Montavilla Neighborhood Association on June 11. There was discussion of street murals, emergency preparedness, and also a plan to have sanctioned houseless camps in Montavilla. For the meeting summary and video, go here.
Other Montavilla neighbors have expressed concern about the sanctioned homeless camp plan, and started a petition (here) to oppose the plan. It’ll be modeled after a Seattle program. Assistance in helping with the sanction camp program has been requested, for more information contact John Rotter, MNA public safety chair. (john.rotter [at] montavillapdx.org)
We’d also like to welcome Maria Jayne, a reporter who’s stepped up to help with stories and organizing! She wrote this month’s meeting summary.
