On Wednesday, February 1st, supporters of Right to Dream Too held a rally to encourage City Council to waive the fines against the downtown homeless resting center. They don’t solicit donations, but they do accept them— so if you are interested in supporting R2DT head down to West Burnside and 4th Avenue and offer your support. Look for the second-best door fence in Portland.
Several spoke before City Council after the rally— making good points on how R2DT (I’m sad to let the Star Wars reference go) is homeless-run and doesn’t take any money from the City. Hopefully not distracting from the important issue of R2DT’s survival, Michael Krupp (the blue guy downtown) kicked off testimony with a poem. I’ll have a video interview with Kevin from R2DT and a talk with their neighbors posted shortly.
